"The Vitamix S30 will not shock anyone with its fantastic level of performance; a quality that appears to have become a staple of most Vitamix blenders."
The Vitamix S30 provides the typical quality seen in the majority of Vitamix blenders and is generally a very effective and useful blender. Powered by 790W and a 120V motor, the S30 is perfect for people in a rush that need to get to their blending as soon as possible. Like other Vitamix blenders, the Vitamix S30 has 10 variable speed settings, but is somewhat limited in its performance when compared to the Vitamix A2500. While this slight drop in quality is seen in the S30’s price tag, the Vitamix S30 is still going to set you back around $300-400. Even though the Vitamix S30 is a great blender, it doesn't offer the best value for money you’ve ever seen.
Design
While the Vitamix S30 is an impressive looking blender, there are some flaws to its design that could definitely be improved upon. Firstly, the S30 is a hugely aesthetically pleasing blender – the type of appliance that you would be proud to show off in your kitchen. Its large, shiny base and lean blending cup give it a really sleek appearance that makes it stand out from the majority of other blenders in terms of looks, despite the Vitamix S30 being formed out of plastic. The S30 comes in either black or red. While this does give you a certain degree of choice, only having a choice of two colours doesn’t necessarily allow for the Vitamix S30 to fit into any imaginable kitchen environment. As previously mentioned, the base of the S30 is rather large, and while this does make for great aesthetics, it’s not the most practical feature in the world.
At a total weight of 12.6 pounds, the Vitamix is heavier than most blenders, and while this can be excused for blenders of the highest quality that have certain special features that add to the weight, the S30 almost seems unnecessarily heavy. With dimensions of 8.34 x 5.9 x 14.55 inches, the Vitamix S30 manages to be both heavy and bulky. This means that you may find some difficulty moving the Vitamix S30 around your kitchen compared to the majority of blenders that are usually simple to haul around your home. However, thanks to its stocky design, you can rest assured knowing that the Vitamix S30 is a durable appliance that should last you a long time. This is reflected in the 5-year warranty placed on the blender. Although 5 years is considered a very generous warranty compared to most blenders, Vitamix have been known to offer warranties lasting 7 or even 10 years for some of their blenders, showing that they may not have as much faith in the S30 as they do for some of their other blenders.
Features
The Vitamix S30 will not shock anyone with its fantastic level of performance; a quality that appears to have become a staple of most Vitamix blenders. Whether you’re interested in making smoothies, hot soups or even frozen desserts, the Vitamix S30 can get deal with all of your blending desires in a fast, efficient and effective manner. With a 120V motor powered by all of 790W, the S30 has Vitamix’s classic blending speed and power, helping you to get the very best blended ingredients with perfect textures and consistencies every time.
There is a degree of durability to the motor of the Vitamix S30 that you simply do not see in the majority of blenders. Like some other Vitamix blenders, the S30 has 10 variable speed settings that you can adjust to your liking, giving you an almost unprecedented degree of choice and precision. While the Vitamix S30 doesn’t have the pre-programmed blending functions and digital timer system that the Vitamix A2500 does, its superb blending performance and its various speed settings allow you to craft your smoothies or any other blended products in the exact fashion that you like them.
There’s also a pulse mode that can be activated by turning the front dial to the left; another feature that helps you get the most precise blending performance possible. Alongside the blender itself, the Vitamix S30 comes with portable blender cups that make blending with the S30 really convenient and easy to do on the go.
Ease of Use
While the Vitamix S30 is a pretty easy blender to use operate, it is not necessarily the most convenient blender you’ve ever seen in your life. One big reason for this is that you have to follow some fairly specific instructions in order to obtain the very best results from the S30. If you do not put your ingredients into the blender in the order specified by the instruction manual, you may find that your results are not quite as good as they could have been. Of course, you can avoid this issue by simply following the instructions, though this can still cause quite a bit of inconvenience. Aside from this, there aren’t too many issues with the Vitamix S30 when it comes to ease of use. All of the S30’s detachable parts are dishwasher friendly, and the Vitamix S30 is generally a very easy appliance to clean. There’s one 40oz container that comes with the S30, as well as a 20oz container that has a flip-top lid, making the Vitamix S30 easy to use while you’re short for time or in a rush. Due to the 10 different speed levels on the S30, noise levels can fluctuate depending on how fast the blender is moving. At the lower speeds, the Vitamix S30 is impressively quiet; much more so than the majority of blenders. However, at the top speeds, the S30 is especially noisy and can be considered to be noticeably louder than many other blenders.

Final Thoughts
The Vitamix S30 is a really impressive blender that performs superbly in various blending areas. Its 120V motor gives the blender a lot of power and contributes to an excellent level of performance that has become typical of Vitamix blenders. However, it must be said that the Vitamix S30 is heavier than it probably should be, and while its design is attractive, it loses marks for being an unnecessarily heavy duty appliance. With this in mind, the Vitamix S30 struggles to justify its $300-400 asking price. If you’ve got the money to spend on an upmarket blender, the S30 should not let you down. However, if you’re looking for an effective blender at a really reasonable asking price, you may want to look for a more affordable option.
